Development | Circles

I arranged these buttons in a circle, to show that no matter what colour or size they may be, they are still creating the same shape. I like the green underneath the buttons as it contrasts against the blue, grey and white of the buttons. This photograph was taken on my glass table with a green coloured chair underneath. This makes the coloured chair blurred in the background and the buttons stand out a lot clearer. I really like the effect this made and I want to try and do the same kind of photograph with a different coloured chair underneath.. Like pink, orange, blue, yellow, grey etc.
For this photograph I put all of the buttons in a jar and took a photograph looking down on the jar. This created a circle on top of the jar and also shows the circles from the buttons. I like the effect this has by looking down on my subject. I took this style of photography from my photographers, Tom Leighton, Sam Kaplan and Dennis Pedersen, as they all use this technique in their photographs. This captures the different sizes, textures and colours effectively.
I took these photographs above to represent different circles in everyday things. Buttons for example are an everyday necessity, so I photographed a variety of different sizes, colours, material etc. This shows that not everything is the same, it may be the same shape but it can vary in many different ways.

I wanted to capture circles in nature, so I went out into my garden to take some photographs of flowers. Some of these photographs are man-made and are not natural. The white pot and black bike for example. But there is a circle still present in their structure.
I really like the lighting in this photograph, I used natural lighting from the sun and it really brightens up the whole image. As you can see this photograph is a bit out of focus, the main focus is on the green leaves behind the flower. Therefore I plan to re-take this photograph when the weather is sunny and bright again. I am also going to crop down this photograph so you can tell that I was trying to take a photograph of the circle bit in the flower.
This white pot is a man-made product but I really liked the circle it created. I also really like the pebbles on the floor around it as they are also circles and create a really nice patten. The composition of this photograph is interesting as the main focus is on the circle shape that the pot creates, but also on the green leaves around it. This enhances the white colour of the pot.
Again this bike plant pot holder is man-made but I really like the different shapes it makes. It has a big circle (the wheel) followed by two smaller circles (to put a plant pot in) and then a spiral like circle at the end. Like the above photograph there are pebbles on the floor around the subject which are also circles. This creates a patten that I like as there is more than one circle in the photograph if you look closer.
I like how the grass in the background of this photograph is blurry and the flower is in focus. I also like the way the middle bit of the flower is blurred a little, this creates a really detailed circle patten which catches the eye straight away. The green and yellow colours compliment each other which helps to enhance the features of the flower.
I wanted to capture circles in nature. If I wanted to re-create this photograph and develop it further I would get a micro lens and try and get a close up photograph of the circular   ^^
^^ Original Photograph ^^
I took this photograph whilst I was in town looking for circles to photograph, as part of my initial and development photographs. This is a photograph of a wheel from a bin. I really like it because it has different size circles present in the one big circle. The wheel has a lot of patten and textures to it, which is captured in the photograph.
^^ Edited photograph ^^
I cropped this photograph down so that the wheel was touching the edges of the image. I find that by doing this it has enhanced the textures of the wheel, the wheel looks grainy and dirty. You can also see the different size circles in the whole wheel.
I took this photograph of the circles because I wanted to capture patterns within circles, the repetition in this image enhances the shapes and sizes of the circles. The bright white colour of the circles contrasts against the brown, dirty background within the shapes. I used natural lighting to capture this image, the sun has reflected against the vibrant white paint on the metal bars.

This photograph shows a sign that was placed onto a shop window, I took this photograph whilst walking around town, I did this because I wanted to capture different circles in everyday things -Such as shopping- I did this as part of my development work. I then cropped this photograph down so that it is just a photograph of the circular sign, I did this by using photoshop. By cropping the circle from the original image it has added light and a white canvas for the photograph to sit on.
I took this photograph because there are a variety of different shapes and sizes of circles. This photograph captures all the different textures, from the wood on the right to the paint in the middle and the metal of the lock.  This photograph represents a key hole. I decided to use this photograph for my final piece because key holes are used everyday in everyones life, to open and lock doors. For my final piece however I will crop this image down so that the key hole is in the centre of the fame and that there is a equal amount of space around each side.
This is a photograph of a logo from a shop 'Pretty Green' I took this photograph as part of my development section because I wanted to capture different circular things whilst walking around town or other places. The lettering on this logo caught my eye as it it unique and different, the two words are placed in a way so that it creates a circle. The reflection in the background adds texture and light to the image.
This photograph captures circles in food and drinks. I got a hot chocolate with cream from Starbucks to take a photograph. I took this image from above as I find this captures the circle shape and textures of the cream and sauce. If I re-shot this photograph I would make sure that the top of the cream is in focus and that I placed the cup in a different position so the light didn't glare onto the table and reflect into the photograph. I really like the contrast of the brown wood table and the caramel, orange shaded sauce. The bright white of the cream and mug also standout and are enhanced by the brown wood.
